7. Course Description:

This seminar course provides the PhD student with knowledge and skills to facilitate integration and synthesis of the essential specialty competencies necessary to plan and design their projects in seminars. This seminar may include a variety of activities related to the identification of the opportunity for improvement, literature synthesis and evidence for their theory based organizational intervention at multiple system levels. The activities will be specific to the student’s identified area of specialty. Students will share issues related to the plan and design of their projects in seminars.

8. Course Goals:

At the end of this course the students will able to:
• Use analytical and scientific methods to facilitate the opportunity for improvement in systems of care that will improve patient outcomes.
• Critically appraise the evidence related to the opportunity for improvement.
• Synthesize evidence to inform the design of their projects in seminars.
