7. Course Description:

In this course MSC students are introduce to capacity building and community development in relation to the socio-political environment in which care is delivered.
The individual, their family and their community are conceptualized as partners in care provision. Cultural safety, with a particular focus on the health and history of aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples is taught as an integral dimension of professional knowledge. MSC students will be presented to the knowledge of collaborative and therapeutic care.
