•Percentages : is the number of units with a certain characteristics divided by the total number of units in the sample multiply by 100 . caution should be exercised when describing percentages based on small number .In such cases a small difference may appear as a big differences in percentages .
•A ratio is a numerical expression between one set of frequencies and another (which indicates the relationship in quantity btween to parts ) .An example is male to female ratio in a sample 3:1
•A rate is a numerical expression of the frequency of a condition in a given population in specified period of time .
• Commonly used in health sciences are incidence rate and prevalence rate .
•Incidence rate relate the number of new cases of a condition in a population within a time period .
•Prevalence rate relates the total number of cases with a condition in a population at a given time
