•1.Sample size should be adequate to the population , it should be proportional to the population not too large or too small .(usually more than 10%(5-10%) from the population)
•2.Simple random sample : card shuffling , tossing a die. Random number tables , computer program.
•Stratified random sample : it is used for a very large population having many characteristics) .
•3.systematic random sample :
•Every nth (5th , 10th ) is selected for the sample , whether we take every alternative case or every 100th case would depend on the sample required in relation to the number available .The quality of this sample may be further improved by selecting the first case randomly .
